**Cloud Economist Location** **- London (Hybrid)** **The Role** My client has an exciting new Cloud Economist role with a leading multinational Law Firm who are currently building out its current cloud capability. They are building a global Cloud Centre of Excellence to accelerate and optimise their use of cloud services. This will be a key role within the business and you will become one of the founding members of the team which will give you an amazing opportunity to grow with their Cloud function. They are looking for someone who has strong technical and financial experience to establish global best practices in cost and vendor management to ensure that they achieve the best possible value from the cloud. You will advise on approaches to improve all aspects of cost management, from tagging of resources through to the use of cloud-native technologies and licence optimisation. You will be a key member of the team designing cloud platforms that are fit-for-purpose, aligning with industry best practices. This is a great opportunity for the successful Cloud Economist to join a leader in this space and really help grow out their cloud capability and the opportunity to grow with the business and this function and really be a key part of the organisation. **Main Responsibilities**
* Partner with the wider architecture team, finance, procurement, IT and our internal customers to develop that solutions are cost-optimised throughout their lifecycle * Define metrics, KPIs and reports for cost and chargeback management * Provide insight needed to make investment decisions when moving services to the cloud * Build and maintain rolling Cloud expenditure forecasts * Act as an ambassador between the client and cloud service providers
**Key Skills**
* Experience in cloud cost visibility, cloud cost optimisation and cloud cost management * Strong verbal and written communications skills, with the ability to simply and clearly communicate technical concepts to a non-technical audience * Able to work in teams remotely in a global context * Excellent analytical skills * Able to learn and understand current business processes and help to model new processes/procedures
