Job Description

This is an excellent opportunity to take a key role in this manufacturing group, reporting ot the financial director.


  • To ensure smooth and efficient operation of Group Credit Management and Control functions
  • Manage integration of data from and between various systems and into Credit Management System
  • Implement and maintain robust processes around limiting risk and bad debt
  • Implement and maintain robust processes around timely collection of customer monies
  • Provide informative Credit & Cash reporting to Management and wider operational Group
  • Provide insightful advice and guidance on Credit related matters generally
  • Responsible for Credit Insurance facilities
  • Be a solid and proactive support to Finance Director on all Credit related matters
  • A go-to-person on export documentation and generally on Output VAT related matters


  • Maintain and develop computerised customer databases, including daily import routines
  • Manage process for all customer invoicing
  • Ensure collection processes are implemented, maintained and carried out in line with account terms and profiles
  • Detailed involvement in and control of credit insurance policy, including limits, claims, notifications and policy renewals
  • Point of contact for risk appraisal and advice to Service Centres and Directors
  • Manage "stoplists"
  • Follow up and assistance with resolution of customer queries in a timely way
  • Assess and advise on new customer account applications
  • Liaising with Administrators regarding proof of debt, ROT, etc
  • Initiating legal action or other collection processes, as relevant
  • Handle Contract Applications for Payment and related retentions
  • Letters of Credit and other relevant Export documentation
  • Handling and accounting for on-line credit card transactions
  • Various reporting to Financial Director, as required
  • Various reporting to other Operational & finance areas
  • Proforma invoicing, as relevant
  • Cover for Darwen based Credit Controller

Knowledge, Skills, Experience

  • Previous experience within a Senior Credit Control position
  • Self-motivated and deadline oriented, with the ability to work under pressure and deliver on targets
  • Excellent communication skills at all levels
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement of processes, with strong problem solving ability

Hours of Work

Monday - Friday 8:30am - 5pm
