Job Description

Rutherford Briant are exclusively recruiting for a Business Analyst to join a well-established business on a 12 month contract based in Chelmsford.

This opportunity will give the ideal candidate good exposure to dealing with complex data, working within a corporate business and producing reports to key stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Monthly reporting on both Financial and Statistical performance against budget and forecast
  • Be first point of contact for Business Partners and senior managers on financial/KPI and MI queries
  • Preparation of annual budget and quarterly forecasts models for the Regions, that are coherent and provide sound starting point for amendment
  • Working with the business to understand variances and advise impact on the business
  • Support the production and development of KPI information and deal with issues arising as necessary
  • Review data for anomalies and flag to the Data team and Business
  • Ad hoc analysis of the accounts and dealing with general ledger queries
  • Preparation of key market data and financial analysis using PowerPoint and Excel, to assist the executive team in driving the businesses forward
  • Make best use of and support database applications and analytical tools

Position Requirements

  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail
  • Ability to produce clear, concise reporting and present complex information simply
  • Ability to work with confidential information without causing a risk to the business
  • Excellent communication, presentation and reporting skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work both on own initiative and as part of a team
  • Highly motivated with focus on continuous process improvement
  • A high level of organisational and planning skills, with the ability to effectively prioritise, to work to tight deadlines and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to use technical software applications
  • Willingness to travel and to spend short periods of time away from home, on occasion
