Accounts Assistant / Permanent / £22,000 - £24,000 / Preston / Development & Progression

A globally recognised brand is recruiting a skilled Accounts Assistant on a permanent basis. The reason for the role is due to exceptional growth, even through a pandemic, and an internal promotion. This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside an award winning finance team within luxury & unique office.

Reporting into the Assistant Accountant, the duties include:

  • To ensure the smooth running of Purchase Ledger:
    • Invoice scanning into the accounting system
    • Ensuring appropriate invoice approval
    • Allocating invoices to the correct purchase ledger account and nominal ledger code Nominal ledger postings
  • To liaise with other departments to ensure purchase invoices are received on a timely basis in order that timetables are adhered to.
  • Reconciliation of purchase ledger to nominal ledger
  • Reconciliation of supplier statements to the purchase ledger, to ensure that there are no missing or duplicate invoices recorded Payment processing including month end payment runs
  • Bank statement postings and reconciliation
  • Liaising with vendors and performing new vendor set up
  • Month end accruals
  • Expenditure analysis
  • Sundry ad hoc requests/projects for management as requested

The ideal candidate will have similar experience within a fast paced organisation, be confident with purchase ledger processes & reconciliations, and be confident with IT skills including excel. They will also need to be an effective communicator.
