My client is an award-winning leading developer, owner and operator of bespoke, luxury student accommodation, residential and commercial property across the UK. They have been operating for over 30 years and currently have 18 operational student accommodation schemes in 9 major cities, with additional impressive projects currently under construction.

They currently have an exciting opportunity available for a Trainee Accountant to join our busy finance team based at their Head Office in Liverpool City Centre. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates at graduate level who have a passion for finance, seeking their first role in industry. The main purpose of the role is to work alongside their team of Management Accountants in producing financial reporting information and undertaking general accounting duties. This is a direct route to enhance and develop your knowledge within a hands-on setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assisting our team of Management Accountants in the preparation of quarter end financial statements
  • Compilation of allocated sections of the quarter end management accounts pack
  • Balance Sheet reconciliations
  • Involvement with student income procedures within our letting systems
  • Preparation of VAT and CIS returns and assistance with other tax return filings
  • Cash management
  • Assisting with the provision of information to external auditors
  • General duties with our management information reporting

Key Requirements:

  • Must hold a degree in a relevant financial subject
  • Advanced level Microsoft Excel skills
  • Ability to work using your own initiative and manage your own time effectively
  • High levels of attention to detail
  • A strong technical working knowledge of management accounts
  • First class communication skills, both written and verbal
