Job - Operations Manager

Salary - Neg

Location - Whitstable

My manufacturing client is looking for an Operations Manager who will be responsible for leading the production operations at Whitstable, ensuring safe working practices, efficient planning scheduling and process control to enable customer expectations to be met, whilst satisfying the headline strategic goals of the business. You will drive the Operations Team forward and address their challenges, devising the headline strategy and setting goals for them to enable the business to reach its aims and objectives.

Main Responsibilities will include:

Leadership and management of the operational teams responsible for: Planning and scheduling, production management, quality control, Contracts & Logistics.

Drive Culture change and manage new employees to develop enthusiastic, motivated and flexible team.

Manage staffing levels, holidays, recruitment, training/development, appraisal and attendance to meet business requirements.

Act as a role model of professional operational management, delivering timely, pragmatic and high-quality decision making to meet the needs of the company and our customers.

Maintain an up to date overview of Plant/Premises Maintenance, equipment condition and availability. Ensure that preventative maintenance schedules are in place.

Stores and Materials Management

Responsible for defining department/function KPIs with regular monitoring, challenging and recovery of targets where required.

Monitoring and controlling; Safety, Quality, Capacity and Cost right through the production process from raw material to finished goods.

Compile and present reports on all aspects of Operations - creation of report formats including comparison for consistency at Group level and UK&I level.

Interpret business strategy and define plan to implement.

Define processes to enable reliable and effective project implementation with recognition of closure.

Challenge Budgets, P&L, Overheads with department heads to look for opportunities - support department heads in implementing improvements.
