The ideal candidate will be a talented backend data engineer, who will enjoy building scalable systems that use data warehousing, batch and stream processing solutions to empower analytics and insights.

As a key member of the team, you will be working in an environment that values your enthusiasm and ideas, as well as your development skills and experience. You will also have great attention to detail and are passionate about delivering high-quality code that has been well tested and documented.

We'd love to have you apply- even if you only meet a few of the requirements- as we are keen to create an environment full of people who like to work on new technologies, learn and evolve.

Day to day responsibilities:

  • Implement data-processing applications using Java, Python or SQL.
  • Implement data flows to connect data for analytics and business intelligence.
  • Work with existing and new ETL pipelines and real-time stream-processing applications.
  • Develop simulators and data-generators to aid the QA team.
  • Build and use APIs to enrich data.
  • Work closely with the product manager to realise requirements with best-practice based design solutions.
  • Work closely with the DevOps team for deployment.

Skills you can bring to the table:

  • An understanding of modern data-engineering concepts and tools.
  • Knowledge and awareness of cloud-based analytical platforms.
  • Experience with developing batch and stream processing applications for analytics-based data pipelines.
  • Experience working with big-data workloads and challenges that it brings at scale.
  • Building and using APIs to integrate external data in data-pipelines.
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
  • An innovative and creative approach to software development.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with other developers, testers and product managers.

Career Development:

What's exciting about this role, is that you will have time invested into your personal career development which ranges from helping you feel confident when taking on new challenges, to working with Senior Managers to plan your goals for the future.

To facilitate continuous learning, the team has access to online resources as well as training courses and mentoring. You are also encouraged to share areas of interest with the wider team to help foster a culture of learning.

What they offer in return:

  • Working on exciting projects in a friendly, creative, and challenging environment
  • Opportunities to work with game-changing clients (including Microsoft & Google)
  • An exciting start-up culture that values people and opportunities to develop your career
  • A competitive salary
