Job Description

An exciting position has become available for a full time Experienced Bookkeeper to join our friendly team based in Portslade, East Sussex. If you have excellent customer service, bookkeeping and purchase ledger experience, then this is a perfect opportunity to grow your career and join a fantastic team.
You will be working closely with sales and order processing team, managing the day-to-day accountancy duties. This is a modern IT distribution business where being efficient and methodical is essential. You will be well-organised, proactive, and be able to encourage positive change as well as manage day-to-day accountancy activities.
We are a small organisation and having a small company mentality is a must. As an Experienced Bookkeeper, you will be required to carry out a vast variety of tasks with a positive, can-do attitude within the company. All the necessary training will be provided.
Responsibilities Include:
Inputting Sales and Purchase invoices to our Zoho Books platform
Managing customer credit control, debt collection and customer payments
Processing supplier bills and payments
Monitoring our bank accounts and updating our records accordingly
Processing bank statements reconciliation&UK quarterly VAT return
Issuing Pro forma invoices to our customers and taking payments
Managing all the journal entries and all aspects of bookkeeping practices
Skill Required
At least 5 years accounting experience a similar position in an accountancy practice environment
AAT qualification or other similar accountancy qualifications
Excellent communication skills and be able to effectively build and maintain client relationships.
Knowledge and experience with using a variety of accounting system
Excellent general IT and Microsoft Office Suit knowledge is essential.
Self-motivated and self-directed
Additional languages (Dutch) would be preferred.
