Bookkeeper required to work for a friendly Billericay Accountancy Practice.
Office hours: Mon-Thurs 08.30am - 5.30pm - Friday’s - 0900am -1.00pm
Although ideally my client would like someone full time, they would consider shorter days.
Essential - At least 2 years experience working for an Accountancy Practice.
General Description - Bookkeeper
To assist in the accounts department with the client bookkeeping function and preparation of client quarterly VAT returns. The bookkeeper’s role will also involve reviewing VAT returns prepared by colleagues. The post holder will have their own portfolio of client accounts.
Main Duties of the post
1 Working with your own portfolio of accounts, carry out client bookkeeping services, using SAGE50, Excel, Quickbooks, Xero and other online based accounting platforms. Posting information to accounting journals and reconciling accounts to ensure their accuracy.
2 Prepare and file quarterly VAT returns
3 Carry out sales and purchase ledger reconciliations
4 Liaise with clients, HMRC and other third party contacts, dealing with general queries
5 Review VAT returns prepared by colleagues
6 Be aware of, and work within set budgets, producing recovery reports and advising the department Head of any under recovery
Communication - Strong communication skills, verbally articulate with good grammar.
Positive attitude with strong work ethic - Upbeat and optimistic, motivated and dedicated to getting the job done.
Financial and Management reporting - Able to process and analyse data ensuring accuracy and deadlines are met.
PAYROLL AND EXPERIENCE OF PERSONAL TAX WOULD ALSO BE DISIRABLE
