Due to rapid growth of the business an exciting position has become available for a full-time (37.5 hours per week) Finance Assistant / Bookkeeper. We all believe in contributing to a safer world by doing our jobs well.The PositionAs a Finance Assistant at Responsive Ltd, you will contribute to the smooth running of the finance department. You will be responsible for assisting with sales and purchasing ledgers, data entry, analysis, generating month-end reports and reconciling bank accounts. The role requires the candidate to demonstrate a flexible approach and the ability to meet deadlines at key times throughout the financial year. Main responsibilities include:Purchase ledger - entering purchase orders and invoices.Reconciling supplier statements and resolving queries.Sales ledger - invoicing, resolving queries with internal and external parties. Issue customer reminders and monthly statements.Credit control cash allocation, debt chasing and obtain settlement within agreed timescales.Bank reconciliations.Daily / weekly account reconciliations.Assisting with month-end and quarter-end tasks.Compile data and prepare monthly reports and cashflow forecasts to support decision making.Seek to continuously improve our business processes and drive efficiency.Ensuring the Company’s financial policies and procedures are observed in line with current legislation.Liaise with our external accountants. This role offers potential for career progression and further qualifications for the right candidate. Essential Skills:Previous accounting experience (2 Years minimum) including experience with end of year and VAT calculations / returns.Experience with accounting software. Responsive utilise Accounts IQ, internal training is provided.High level of accuracy, attention to detail and ability to identify errors.Confident with excellent communication skills.Ability to work on their own initiative.Able to deal with both internal and external queries.Good Numeracy and Literacy skills.Pro-active, organised and able to prioritise workload.Good IT skills and high level of computer literacyEnthusiastic, positive and approachable attitude.Good Team working skills.Desire to learn and be part of a growing business. Desirable Skills:Accounts QualificationsAccounts IQ Experience The LocationResponsive Ltd’s roots are in West Cumbria, we also have hubs in Manchester and Southampton.
