Elevation Accountancy & Finance are delighted to be working with a well-established and highly reputable business in Rotherham, as they look to recruit a hard-working Bookkeeper with a genuine passion for finance to join their team.

You will join a friendly team within a growing business and become integral to the success of the company, this is the perfect opportunity for a driven individual to grab with both hands and get stuck in! Ideally you will have come from a finance background and have experience within a similar role.

Duties & Responsibilities include:

* Issue & Enter sales invoices onto systems
* Issue regular up-to-date statements to customers to inform them of upcoming and outstanding debts
* Manage and maintain the aged debtors list. Contact and communicate with debtors to ensure debts are cleared in a timely manner
* Keep directors informed of the aged debtors both through presenting the list and in regular meetings
* Issue a remittance for payments made as appropriate
* Process all company employee expenses and input onto Sage recording/archiving evidence appropriately. Processing expenses includes setting up the bank transfer as appropriate
* Process the wage run at the end of every month for all employees using pay slips provided by the external accountants
* Assist external accountants in preparing critical financial items such as bank reconciliation, closing out VAT quarters, end of year accounts and other items as necessary
* Liaise with customers and suppliers on accounting matters

To be successfully considered for the role, you will have:

* Knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite in preparing formal, professional correspondence in the form of emails and letters, informative presentations to be delivered to directors on accounting matters and basic spreadsheets to compile data and import/export data from and to the accounting software
* Be able to manage own time and tasks effectively in a fast paced setting
* Be comfortable speaking with customers, suppliers or colleagues whether via email, over the phone or face to face
* A background in basic accounting principles is required
* Sage experience
* AAT qualified - desirable
* Good Communication skills
