This an exciting opportunity for a senior Economist to join the Strategic Planning, Business Case & Economics team at Principal or Associate Director level. If you have specific experience of people management, project management and business development and want to be involved with some of the most high-profile programmes and projects across the UK and Europe, then we want to hear from you.
This role can be based at any of our UK offices and we also offer a hyrbid model of both home and office working.
About the Opportunity
You will support our head of practice and sector leads in infrastructure economics, environmental economics, cities and regional development and inclusive growth in growing the team and quality assurance.
Key responsibilities include:
Technical project leader of technically complex programmes of work, with frequent client exposure as the key point of contact
Maintenance and development of client relationships and ability to address and resolve client issues or difficulties
Developing business and winning work from key existing clients and extending our client base further
Coaching and management of junior and mid-level staff
Industry recognised in technical excellence in project delivery and subject matter expertise in economics
Experience of winning and delivering work across a range of sectors including for development economics, environmental economics and infrastructure economics
Strong track record of supporting the shaping and delivery business plans and strategies
Strong academic record in relevant field
Experience in the provision of economic advice to clients and developing scheme for funding purposes
Ability to act as capture manager for large opportunities
Flexibility to undertake economic analysis in a variety of sectors and/or industries
An understanding of the governance of public organisations and how the funding approvals process works
Strong analytical skills and financial literacy
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and presentation skills, are essential.
Excellent interpersonal skills and confidence when interacting with others
Experience in managing people
Ideally, here's what you'll also have:
Project management certification
Recognised expertise in certain areas of economic assessment
Experience developing the careers of others
