This role provides support to the Finance department, working effectively with other members of the team and ensuring the accuracy of financial information. Reporting to the Finance Manager you will be given opportunity to progress in the role with full on the job training.This role would be suitable for a person at the beginning of their career in finance or someone who is making the next step in their finance career.This is a fixed term, two-year apprenticeship study programme. Start date is available upon the successful completion of checks and references. AAT study programme is to start in September 2021. Your hourly rate of pay will increase within your second year of apprenticeship from the national apprenticeship wage of £4.30 to the national minimum wage of your age group.About You, Qualifications and Skills required: No finance experience is required! You have a strong desire to be in finance You are a quick learner, prepared to study and complete qualifications You are computer literate - a good knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Microsoft Teams (or similar) and Emails You have experience in working as part of a team and independently Excellent written and oral communication skills Attention to detail Good timekeeping Positive can-do attitude and strong work ethic GCSE Maths and English (C or above), or equivalentThe roleYou will be providing effective support to achieve accurate financial information.Examples of duties in the first year of the apprenticeship will include: Processing cashbook and general ledger journals Recording purchase invoices Receipt of income Raising credit notes Reviewing refund requestsDepending on the progress of your learning and departmental needs, there will be an opportunity to learn and perform the following duties: Generating and sending sales invoices to customers Bank reconciliations Debt chasing and credit control Ledger reconciliations Accruals and prepaymentsAbout UsThe College is home to 13,000 students across four main campuses in Trowbridge, Chippenham, Lackham and Salisbury.
