The NFDA are now looking to expand their team through the recruitment of a Policy and Research Assistant in London. Our offices are based in central London close to Gt Portland Street underground station.

This role is on a 6-month contract with review to go permanent at the end of term.

This is an entry level role for a Graduate who is looking to take a step into the Automotive industry. If this sounds like you, the role of Policy and Research Assistant could be ideal! To be considered for this role, you will require the following skills and competencies:

  • Strong analytical skills with an expert knowledge level of Microsoft Office products, specifically Excel
  • High level of literacy and numeracy
  • A strong interest in automotive industry and the changing landscape within the sector
  • Full UK Driving License Desirable

Your New Role

The Policy and Research Support Assistant role is key in supporting the Policy and Research Officer in their tasks and duties. Although not limited to, the main responsibilities of the role will include:

  • Supporting Policy Officer with public affairs and policy pertaining to the Automotive Retail sector
  • Assisting with the monitoring of policy guidance and recommendations to Associations on legislative matters
  • To assist in the monitoring of daily updates on government and legislative developments
  • Providing research based on queries from the Associations in the Automotive retail sector
  • Supporting analytical research work within various association surveys
  • Assisting with compilation, design, analysis and results of various industry leading stakeholder surveys
  • Assisting with research and production of industry related press, responsible for highlighting areas which may affect association and sector strategy
  • To act as cover for the Policy and Research Officer
  • From time to time, attending events and meetings.

Identifying relevant stakeholders within and outside of government, creating relationships

In return for your hard work and keen eye for detail, the successful Policy and Research Support Assistant will be entitled to a competitive basic salary of Circa £20,000 per annum plus benefits.
