The role in short
We are looking for an enthusiastic and capable Category Manager to take ownership and manage the sourcing and merchandising of a range of key categories. This is a varied role where the individual should be able to use their commercial acumen and negotiation skills to drive towards our business objectives and growth

Onto the nitty gritty!

Ownership and management of a range of key categories
Ensure that sales, margin, and profit expectations are achieved, whilst ensuring Plumbworld remain competitive
Maximise category performance with a ‘hands-on’ involvement of pricing, availability, ranges, and suppliers
Develop and deliver new products in conjunction with suppliers to ensure best in class sourcing
Responsible for all aspects of Merchandising, ensuring our products are accurately represented and remain up to date
Develop and enhance relationships with suppliers and ensure they understand and meet our service requirements
Regularly undertake Product and Category range reviews and take appropriate steps to ensure ranges are maximising sales and revenue
Review competitors and understand market trends to identify new opportunities and range gaps
Collaborate with the marketing team and email marketing campaigns by suggesting and influencing commercial initiatives to ensure product performance is continually enhanced
Continually review supplier performance across manufacturer and delivery damages to ensure we are not financially disadvantaged
To ensure that all necessary administrative procedures are carried out
We’d like to meet someone with

A highly positive, enthusiastic individual who can work independently using own initiative
Competent in excel – ability to analyse data to present in a clear manner
Excellent communication skills to build strong working relationships internally and externally
Confident and innovative to generate ideas and improvements
Strong sense of urgency and time management to prioritise workload
High level of attention to detail and ability to react quickly to changes
A keen eye for spotting opportunities and market trends
Previous experience within sourcing and/or merchandising in an FMCG environment would be advantageous

Salary: £32,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
