Admin Assistant (Buying Team)

Rate: £10.50 - £11.50 per hour (Dependant on experience)

Duration: 3months; Initial contract (Possibility of extension)


Mon - Friday full-time (36 hours Hybrid 3 on site 2 at home)

Adecco have an exciting new opportunity to work within the buying administrative services team as an Administrator with an well known organisation near Welwyn Garden City. The ideal individual would have an excellent people skills and confident ability to communicate with internal employees and external customers alike.

Previous administrative experience is highly beneficial

Must have basic knowledge of administrative practices and procedures

Able to track and report on PC (training provided on specific software)

Good interpersonal skills

Able to influence others

Takes pride in own work

Must have professional presentation

Good communication and interpersonal skills

Must have good working knowledge of general office equipment and have basic Microsoft Office Suite skills


Answers incoming phone calls and ensures all calls are directed to the appropriate individuals

You will be a key part of the buying department team, supporting your Buying Manager to ensure our customers can buy great quality products at the best price.

Providing buying support to keep the department running smoothly, report and analysis preparation for your Manager

Understanding customer needs, markets trends and competitor activity

Helping source products for the department, working with International sourcing

Identifying potential new products and new suppliers

Reviewing (with support) our existing suppliers and their performance

Negotiating (with support) supplier terms agreements (incl. returns), improving the trading position sustainability

Supporting category merchandising colleagues in the trade planning process

Working with suppliers and technical team to ensure product quality is achieved and maintained artwork managed

Managing samples (incl. obtaining them from suppliers as well as storage and disposal)

Working with HSC Admin, ensuring new products and suppliers are set up accurately and on time

Maintaining the department's systems and trackers (incl. Buyer View, EQOS, Range Plan), ensuring they are accurate and updated in a timely manner.

Loading Commercial Income and ensuring our suppliers are invoiced correctly

Reviewing and sharing product returns, identifying opportunities for product improvement

Following our Business Code of Conduct and always acting with integrity and due diligence
