Why this role is important for CPI’s work


CPI has a great opportunity for a HR assistant to join our well established and growing Human Resources team, based at the Wilton Centre in Redcar. The team consists of People Director, HR Project & Operations Manager, HR, L&D & Talent Acquisition Business Partners, HR Advisors and HR Assistants. We are looking for someone who is self-motivated, open to learning and will be as passionate as we are about our people to join us!

This is an essential role within our HR team, the purpose of which is to provide accurate, efficient, and confidential administrative support to the HR team. You will be working in a fast paced and varied environment, and through the delivery of your day-to-day activities, you will gain exposure to many aspects of the employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, learning and development, reward and recognition and much more. It is the perfect opportunity if you are looking to gain valuable experience in in the Human Resources function within a fast-growing organisation!

Duties will include:

Support the recruitment process which includes managing applications, arranging interviews with candidates and line managers. You will also respond to recruitment related queries.
Continuously update the HR Applicant Tracking System (ATS) and deliver an excellent candidate experience. 
Support the new starter cycle with preparing and sending new starter documents, setting up personnel files and profiles on our HR system (CoreHR), and collating new starter information such as references and medical checks.
Administer HR-related documentation including contracts and letters, with appropriate confidentiality via our electronic signature programme. 
Ensure the relevant HR databases are up to date, accurate, and comply with legislation. 
Assist with administration in relation to learning and development, including coordinating training courses and arranging refresher training as required. Ensuring accurate information is recorded. 
Provide administration for absence management including sickness and holidays, ensuring the correct absence process is followed and accurate information is recorded and filed for efficient data retrieval. 
Administer the leaver process and ensure all relevant documentation is returned.
Raise purchase orders and action invoices to ensure goods and services are purchased and processed on time. 
Provide administration in relation to CPI’s Service Providers, including Medical Providers, Pension Providers, and Occupational Health Providers.
Assist with general office duties including filing, photocopying, archiving and replenishing stationery. 
Maintain consistent and document compliance with all relevant Safety, Health and Environmental (SHE), quality and best practice requirements.


The person we are seeking


You will be educated to Level 3 (or equivalent) in an Administration, Human Recourses or Business-related subject, or have relevant experience ideally with a CIPD Level 3 (or Higher) qualification.
You will be able to demonstrate experience of working in a busy office environment and managing a high volume and varied workload and should have previous experience working with databases/​in house systems to process information accurately and efficiently.
Previous experience in using Microsoft Office systems in a business environment is an essential requirement for this role.
Ideally, you will have previous experience of working in HR or L&D function, however we will consider candidates from other functions. 
Previous experience in coordinating events, appointments, meetings and interviews would be a distinct advantage.
