Job Description

Title: Welding Team Leader
Salary: Up to £30k DOE Responsible To: Production Manager Responsible For: Weld/Clean-off Team Members Liaise With: Departmental Managers,Project Managers & QA
Role: Responsible for all production activities within the Weld/Clean-off Team. This will encompass production plan implementation , job allocation, process sequencing etc.

Specific Responsibilities:


To manage all production activities within the Team, targeting on time delivery, overtime reduction, developing and meeting production plans for the area.
To communicate daily delivery requirements to the Team.
To fully utilise and develop the skills of Team Members in line with requirements.
Provide support / mentor the Team Members on Performance related issues through product & process ownership.
Evaluate and improve Process / Equipment effectiveness.
To ensure maximum up-time on all production machinery.
To prioritise and balance workloads.
To ensure that products conform to visual and dimensional requirements by ensuring process control checks are completed.
To support ISO9001 throughout the Company.
To support the improvement of quality throughout the Company.
To understand and implement Customer & Company Quality Standards within the Team.
Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs):

To support the introduction and improvement of SOPs into all areas of the business.
To support the creation of SOPs.
Continuous Improvement:
Support Continued Improvement of all process and procedures within the company.
Support the continued introduction of5s and Lean Manufacturing practice within the company.
To identify improved methods and systems of work, through the continuous improvement (Kaizen) system.
Management Functions
To motivate all Team Members offering guidance, support, mentoring etc.
To ensure all Team Members are using the Shop Floor Data Capture system correctly.
To assist with Performance / Training reviews.
To produce a monthly report based on the measurements and responsibilities contained within this job specification for presentation to the Operations manager.
To maintain a clean and tidy working environment
To instigate the purchase of production consumables/raw materials.
To work within the companies Health and Safety policy
To be involved in the evaluation of new equipment.
To provide Technical support and advice to the Sales / New Projects team on quotation proposals and new product reviews.
To ensure holiday & other information on Team boards is kept up to date.
To monitor, approve, disapprove & record holiday bookings and absenteeism for Team Members
To fully utilise and develop the skills of Team Members in line with the requirements of our customers.
To attend meetings when required.
To brief the Team on a regular basis, encouraging open communication.
