Part Time Accounts Assistant
Salary: £14,500 (Flexibility depending on experience & performance)
Hours: 25 hours a week (5 days a week, 5 hours a day, flexible in between 9am - 4pm)
Purpose of the role:
To provide administrative support and report to the Financial Controller. To provide administrative assistance to suppliers and/or customers with any day to day requests.
Key responsibilities and duties of the role:
Sales Ledger • To accurately post and allocate cash (BACS, cheques, credit cards to Sales Ledger accounts)• Query unallocated cash with customers via phone/email• Request remittance advices from customers• Review of Sales Ledger; checking allocations, over/underpayments, debt collection, customers ‘on stop’• Send out monthly customers statements
Purchase Ledger • Print and post invoices and match against Purchase Orders and Goods Received Notes, liaising with Purchasing Manager and Production & Engineering Manager• Filing of batches of payments• Prepare month end payment routines for suppliers• Mail Remittance advices• Filing of previous months matched invoices/Purchase Orders and Goods Received Notes• Review of Purchase Ledger; checking allocations, currency differences, supplier statements
General • Working from multiple and multi-currency purchase ledger accounts• Manage expenses for Account Managers• Provide copy invoices/request copy invoices as required
Requirements:
Essential: • Working with purchase and sales ledgers• Invoice and cash reconciliation• Attention to detail• High level of accuracy
Desired: • Studying AAT or equivalent
Experience: • Previous accounts experience• Knowledge of industry
