One of the UK s foremost research and development groups has a new vacancy has a new vacancy for a Senior Economist to join the team. Applicants must have experience developing evaluation frameworks and compiling evidence to support current and future investment impacts to support business cases.
Commutable from: Bristol, Cardiff, Gloucester, Cheltenham, Newport, Bridgend.
Salary: £ 50,000 - £ 56,000 + hybrid working+ excellent pension & benefits
Suitable for: Economist, Principal Economist, Research Economist, Senior Economist, Consultant, Impacts Manager, Economist, Principal Economist, Framework Manager.
The Role
Develop impact case studies, by collating and analysing data & information.
Identify and record the return on investment commercial benefits to UK industry.
Lead the development of the Evaluation Framework, looking at different methods of capturing the social and economic impact data.
Production of monitoring and evaluation plans and benefits realisation plans to agreed timelines
Identify risks associated to the realisation of benefits and social/economic impacts
Directing projects and programmes on how to identify, plan, measure and track benefits from the start of the programme or project investment until realisation of the last projected benefit
Enhancing the understanding of key stakeholders, both internal and external.
Creation of documentation (board reports, quarterly reviews, policy and process documentation) to demonstrate economic benefits.
The Candidate
Degree in Economics (or equivalent experience)
Ability to research facts and analyse data.
Proven ability to write detailed impact case studies and progress reports.
A good awareness of proven impacts from science and innovation projects.
Highly organised and able to prioritise workload effectively.
Proven experience in delivering an impact an evaluation programme.
Able to understand, influence, drive and negotiate with both internal/external customers/suppliers and colleagues to explain the implications of decisions.
Able to influence project shaping and delivery
Strong communication skills and able to deal with external stakeholders to a high level
Enthusiastic approach to working to realise real world benefits from research, technology and innovation.
