Economists at Amazon Delivery Experience work directly with senior management to drive innovation in retail supply chain and help solve key business problems in operations. You will apply frontier economic techniques to product design, pricing, forecasting, program evaluation, and more. You will build econometric models using our world class data systems and apply economic theory to solve business problems in a fast-moving environment. Economists at Amazon develop novel methods to process large data sets, solve quantitative problems, and contribute to the design of automated systems across the company.
We seek an Economist who is able to work collaboratively and across disciplines with stakeholders and scientists in the EU, Japan, US, and other marketplaces. You will thrive in this role if you enjoy tackling ambiguous challenges using the economics toolkit and identifying and solving problems at scale.
Key job responsibilities
Lead data-driven econometric studies to create future business opportunities
Consult with stakeholders in Delivery Experience and other teams to help solve existing business challenges
Advise senior leaders and collaborate with other scientists to drive innovation
Support delivery program growth in international marketplaces including in the EU, Japan, and others
PhD in Economics
Experience in private sector, government, or academic research
Experience conducting econometric analysis including reduced-form causal analysis, structural modeling, or machine learning
Effective oral and written communication skills
Experience applying statistical methods to business problems
Ability to work in a fast-paced business environment
Strong research track record
Applicants with considerably more experience, including mid-career, are also highly encouraged
