Assistant Accountant / Finance Assistant

Pinpoint Resourcing are partnering with an established and growing electrical compliance business who is looking for an experienced Assistant Accountant / Finance Assistant to join its central finance team.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who is organised, detail-focused and comfortable managing day-to-day financial operations across transactional accounting and payroll administration.

Responsibilities:

• Manage day-to-day transaction processing including processing weekly purchasing card transactions and costing into MRI
• Collate and input payroll documentation such as timesheets, holidays, absences, and acting as the point of contact for employee payroll queries
• Support ledger management across both the Purchase and Sales Ledgers, including credit control tasks for subsidiaries
• Assist with treasury operations by helping with payment runs and supporting the Accounts Manager with the weekly cash flow model
• Maintain company compliance with Health & Safety, Equal Opportunities, and other corporate policies
• Provide wider support and administration cover to the finance function as required

Skills & Experience:

• Previous experience in a transactional finance, ledger, or payroll administration role
• Hands-on software exposure, ideally with proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and financial systems like MRI
• AAT qualification (Level 2, 3, or part-qualified Level 4) is highly desirable
• Strong workload prioritisation and communication skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and work collaboratively within a team

Salary + other information:

• Working Pattern: 5 days a week in the office
• Salary: £30,000 - £35,000
• Employment Type: Permanent
