Your new role
In your new role as Assistant Management Accountant, you will support the accurate preparation of financial transactions and management information. Your responsibilities will include assisting with balance sheets, profit and loss accounts and other key financial reports; maintaining accurate accounts payable, accounts receivable and general ledger entries; processing supplier payments and reconciling supplier accounts; preparing VAT and other relevant tax returns; and completing bank reconciliations.You will also support inventory and work-in-progress valuations, investigate stock discrepancies and work closely with the stock team on system-to-floor checks, quarantine movement authorisations and inventory audits. In addition, you will assist with month-end close and audit preparation, helping to ensure deadlines are met and stakeholders receive accurate, high-quality financial information. This is a full-time role, based in their offices working 9am-5pm.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful for this role, you will ideally hold AAT Level 4 or an equivalent qualification and have previous experience in a similar role. Experience gained within manufacturing, FMCG or a similarly stock-focused environment is essential for this role, and you should be confident using ERP systems and Microsoft Excel, with the ability to interpret complex data accurately. You will be a proactive self-starter with strong attention to detail, effective time-management skills and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
