Finance Assistant

£30,000 per annum + annual performance bonus + fantastic benefits
Full-time | 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday
Based onsite in Somerset (Wincanton)

The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Finance Assistant to join a highly regarded and unique luxury hospitality and leisure business based in Somerset.

This is a varied finance role, with accounts payable at its core, but plenty of opportunity to get involved across the wider finance function. You'll work within a busy, collaborative team and play an important role in ensuring the smooth running of day-to-day financial operations.

We're looking for someone with at least two years' accounts payable experience who is proactive, organised and enjoys working in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Setting up new supplier accounts and maintaining existing supplier details
• Processing supplier invoices and credit notes
• Carrying out monthly supplier statement reconciliations
• Liaising with suppliers regarding queries and payments
• Managing supplier payment runs within agreed payment terms
• Supporting month-end ledger reconciliations
• Managing and archiving invoices
• Reconciling outstanding purchase orders
• Investigating and managing stock discrepancies
• Managing the accounts inbox
• Completing bank reconciliations
• Supporting the wider finance team with ad hoc tasks and projects

About You

• We're looking for someone who is:
• Experienced in Accounts Payable or a similar finance role (minimum 2 years)
• Numerate, organised and highly detail-oriented
• Confident using Excel and other IT systems
• Logical, precise and accurate in their approach
• Proactive and comfortable taking ownership
• Able to work effectively in a busy and sometimes challenging environment
• A confident communicator who can build relationships with stakeholders and suppliers
• Resilient, motivated and keen to develop their skills
• Honest, approachable and easy to work with
• Experience within hospitality, leisure or retail would be advantageous but is not essential.
