School Caretaker - Doncaster

Academics, a national education agency fast becoming the number one agency in the UK, is actively recruiting for a School Caretaker to work on a Secondary School site in Doncaster on a temporary basis for the Autumn Term.

About the Role

As a School Caretaker in Doncaster, you will play a vital part in ensuring the school premises are safe, secure, clean and well-maintained.

The role will involve working as part of a small team and carrying out a variety of practical maintenance and site duties, including:

  • Minor repairs and general maintenance
  • Plumbing
  • Carpentry
  • Painting and decorating
  • Fire safety duties
  • Litter picking and maintaining the school grounds
  • Supporting the general upkeep and security of the school site
  • Working collaboratively as part of a small team

Working hours:

  • Monday - Thursday: 9:00am - 5:00pm
  • Friday: 9:00am - 4:00pm
  • 5 days per week
  • Duration: Autumn Term
  • Applicants must be available to work during school holidays

All mandatory training will be covered.

School Caretaker Requirements:
  • Previous caretaking, maintenance or site management experience
  • Practical experience with minor repairs, plumbing, carpentry, painting and decorating
  • Knowledge or experience of fire safety procedures
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a small team
  • Reliability
  • Commitment to safeguarding
  • An Enhanced DBS Certificate
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and codes of practice in relation to facilities management
