Located in Ince, Cheshire, just outside of Chester, this biomass facility generates renewable electricity by processing waste wood that would otherwise be landfilled. It forms part of a circular economy approach, converting non-recyclable wood into low-carbon energy for homes and businesses. The site is also being developed as a potential bioenergy with carbon capture and storage (BECCS) project, aiming to remove significant volumes of CO from the atmosphere while continuing to supply clean power.
Description
As the Multi Skilled Engineer you will be tasked with the following;
· Fault finding and maintaining of plant mechanical and electrical equipment.
· Working in line with maintenance techniques and best practices.
· Undertaking / assisting in plant developments & projects.
· Working with the company CMMS (Maximo) to assure accurate maintenance records, and comprehensive asset data information.
· Participate in project support when required, leading commissioning activities and ensuring all of the required engineering documentation exists.
· Liaising with and supervising external vendors on specific repairs / maintenance, including some weekend working.
· Adhere to all Health, Safety and Environmental legislation at all times.
· Work in accordance with the Safety Rules, actively managing subcontractors with the setting to work process and supervising contractors.
· Operating at all times safely, in line with Core Elements & Expectations, and at all times adhering to the companies Life Saving Rules.
· Report unsafe acts and conditions within the observation reporting tool and perform or assist with investigations when requested.
· Assist with ensuring all maintenance equipment is regularly checked and is complaint with HSE regulations and that any defects are reported.
· Assist in outage planning, scheduling, coordination and generation of any preparatory works as required.
· Proactively report equipment defects and suggest remediation and improvement plans.
· Become an integral part of the Asset Maintenance Team, routinely liaising with other areas of the business to effectively maximise the asset availability and utilisation.
· Proactively provide support to the Management of Change process, raising instances for consideration, and supporting the assessment of other engineering changes when required.
· To plan and carry out planned preventative maintenance on all plant and equipment aiming to achieve maximum plant availability, with zero unplanned down time, along with other Maintenance tasks as instructed.
· Working with engineering drawings, P&ID's.
· Maintain a high standard of housekeeping within the workshop and the rest of the facility.
· To carry out equipment breakdowns effectively and efficiently.
· Conduct safety compliance inspections and maintain records.
