Fullstack Engineer (Backend) in London - Randstad Technologies

The Opportunity
You will join a high-impact development squad building commercial offerings on top of the thriving open-source Backstage framework. You will design and build backend systems, APIs, and developer portals that elevate the developer experience across external commercial clients and internal engineering teams alike.Your Impact

• Backend & API Systems: Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs primarily using TypeScript, Node.js, and modern web technologies.
• Developer Experience & Infrastructure: Build and operate infrastructure, developer toolsets, and CI/CD deployment pipelines to streamline engineering workflows.
• Engineering Excellence: Elevate code quality through technical RFCs, code reviews, architectural feedback, unit testing, and full operational ownership of your services.
• Open Source Collaboration: Partner with product managers, designers, and the open-source community to shape the evolution of internal developer platforms.

Your Experience

• Core Skills: 5+ years of hands-on software engineering experience with strong backend mastery in TypeScript and Node.js, alongside familiarity with React across the stack.
• Architecture & Operations: Deep passion for API design, data modeling, service reliability, and operating CI/CD pipelines.
• Problem Solver: Proactive ownership of outcomes, with strong communication skills and a passion for mentoring peers and driving engineering best practices.
• Logistics: Complete remote in UK
