Air Conditioning Engineer


We are looking for experienced Air Conditioning Engineers to join a well-established and growing HVAC business, covering North and South London and the surrounding areas.


This is a hands-on installation role working across a variety of commercial, retail and domestic properties, installing, commissioning and handing over air conditioning and ventilation systems. The position would suit an experienced Air Conditioning Engineer looking for a strong basic salary, paid travel time, regular overtime and long-term career progression.

The Role


As an Air Conditioning Engineer, you will be responsible for installing and commissioning a range of air conditioning and mechanical ventilation systems. You will work closely with project managers, site teams and other trades to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.


Your responsibilities will include:

  • Installing and commissioning air conditioning systems including splits, VRF and ducted systems
  • Installing mechanical ventilation systems across commercial, retail and domestic properties
  • Carrying out system testing, balancing and commissioning
  • Completing commissioning certificates and handover documentation
  • Fault finding and rectifying system issues where required
  • Reading and working from mechanical drawings, schematics and technical manuals
  • Working alongside project managers, site teams and subcontractors to meet project deadlines
  • Maintaining accurate site records, timesheets and completion paperwork
  • Ensuring all work complies with Health & Safety procedures and CDM regulations
  • Providing a professional service when dealing with customers and clients on-site
  • Supporting system handovers and client demonstrations


What We're Looking For


The successful Air Conditioning Engineer will ideally have:

  • City & Guilds Level 2 F-Gas qualification or equivalent - essential
  • Minimum 3 years' experience working with air conditioning and ventilation systems
  • Experience installing commercial and/or large domestic air conditioning systems
  • Good knowledge of split, VRF and ducted systems
  • Experience with commissioning and fault finding
  • Ability to read mechanical drawings and technical documentation
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Willingness to travel throughout Northamptonshire and surrounding areas


Desirable Experience & Qualifications
The following would be advantageous but are not essential:

  • City & Guilds Level 2 Refrigeration & Air Conditioning
  • Experience with VRF systems, AHUs and extract/ventilation systems
  • Ductwork installation and sheet-metal experience
  • Airflow balancing experience
  • IPAF
  • PASMA
  • CSCS Card
  • Asbestos Awareness
  • SSSTS or SMSTS
  • Relevant electrical competency or knowledge of current wiring regulations
  • Previous customer-facing experience


Working Hours
Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm
Overtime is regularly available and paid at time and a half.
