Job Description

This is a newly created position within the Partnership Tax team of an innovative, global law firm..

Reporting to the Head of Partnership Tax, you will own the end-to-end U.K. tax compliance cycle for the firm's LLP, its Members, and its corporate entities—managing tax computations, individual Member returns, PAYE Settlement Agreement, HMRC correspondence, and Member annual tax statements.

But there is more to this than compliance. You will monitor the tax environment, track legislative change, identify process improvements, and be the person Members turn to with their queries.

When the Head of Partnership Tax needs technical analysis or project support, you will be the one they call on.

You'll be highly organised, hands-on, and comfortable working at pace. Equally capable of preparing a complex computation as reviewing the work of others, and confident communicating tax matters clearly to senior stakeholders.

You bring a strong U.K. tax compliance background, a recognised qualification — CTA, ACA, ATT, or equivalent, and professional services experience. Legal sector experience would put you ahead.

The Tax Manager will be responsible for leading and delivering the tax compliance cycle for the LLP, its Members and its Corporate entities.

This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Managing the preparation of the U.K. LLP and U.K. Corporation tax computations.
  • Managing the preparation of individual member tax returns.
  • Ensure timely and accurate tax filings and tax payments.
  • Handling HMRC correspondence.
  • Delivery of Member annual tax statements to include tax reserving and tax reserve reconciliation.
  • Providing responses to Member queries.
  • Managing the preparation of the PAYE Settlement Agreement.
  • Managing other tax compliance obligations.
  • Monitoring tax environment and legislative developments and their impact on the firm and its members.
  • Identification of process and control improvements, including the implementation of technology solutions.
  • Support the Head of Partnership Tax with tax technical analysis and reports on projects as needed
