Job Description

Senior Project Manager | Sporting Event Design Agency | London / Hybrid

Harmonic are delighted to be partnering with a fast-growth specialist in the events and structures space in their search for a Senior Project Manager. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced events professional who thrives under pressure, enjoys real variety, and wants to deliver some of the most high-profile events on the global sporting and entertainment calendar.

The Client

Our client is a specialist business delivering complex structures, builds and logistical programmes for major events across sport and entertainment. With a lean permanent team and a contractor network of around 1,000, they consistently operate at a scale that belies their headcount - running multiple large-format, high-pressure projects simultaneously for some of the world's most recognised brands.

The business is in a period of rapid growth, having recently secured a significant new contract that will meaningfully increase their footprint.

The Role

Reporting to the Director of Business Operations, the Senior Project Manager will take end-to-end ownership of the planning and delivery of live events and structural builds from initial brief through to post-event completion. In peak season, that means running multiple major projects simultaneously, managing up to 200 crew on a single event, and maintaining close relationships with clients, contractors, and crew across the full project lifecycle.

This is a role for someone who is energised by complexity and variety. No event ever runs without a problem; what the business needs is a confident, solutions-focused project manager who can make fast decisions on their feet, keep multiple workstreams on track at once, and build the kind of trust with contractors and crew that only comes from genuine engagement. Regular site visits are expected and valued.

The role is a 12-month fixed-term contract, perfect for someone looking to work with some of the world's most recognised sporting and entertainment events.

Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end project delivery lifecycle for multiple live events simultaneously, from initial planning through to on-site execution and post-event close-out
  • Manage all project logistics: crew planning, resource allocation, supplier coordination, and sourcing local crew internationally where required
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as the primary point of contact on your projects throughout the delivery process
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, timelines, and budgets, keeping all stakeholders informed and delivery on track
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with contractors and crew through regular site visits and genuine on-the-ground engagement
  • Lead rapid problem-solving when things go wrong on-site: kit that does not arrive, crew shortfalls, last-minute changes to scope
  • Work closely with the Operations Manager and Site Operations Manager to ensure seamless coordination across all active projects

What our client needs to see (essential):

  • A proven track record delivering large-scale live events, with experience managing crews of 100+ across multiple simultaneous projects
  • Background in live events - large-scale sporting events, experiential builds, touring production, or similarly high-pressure environments
  • Strong project management skills: planning, scheduling, budgeting, and the ability to keep complex workstreams on track
  • Confident client-facing skills, with experience managing senior stakeholders and building long-term relationships
  • Fast and solutions-focused under pressure; someone who makes decisions and moves, rather than escalates
  • Willing to get on site regularly and build genuine relationships with contractors and crew

What we would like to see (non-essential):

  • Experience delivering events for major global brands in sport or entertainment
  • Background at a large events agency or production company operating at scale
  • Experience sourcing and managing international crew and logistics across multiple markets

Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 (up to £65,000 for an exceptional candidate)

Location: South West London / Hybrid - minimum 2 days per week in office

Start Date: Mid to end of October

Contract: 12-month fixed-term contract
