Head of Procurement - Local Authority in London - Spencer Clarke Group

My Local Authority client in Greater London is looking to appoint a talented Head of Procurement on a Contract basis.

The role will provide strategic leadership for the corporate procurement function, while leading on transformation objectives.

About the role:

Based in London (Hybrid):

• Lead a service of up to 22 procurement and commercial professionals, directly managing senior leaders within the function.
• Lead and deliver the Council's procurement transformation programme, championing innovation, efficiency and best value.
• Develop and implement the Council's procurement strategy, ensuring compliance with legislation, regulations and best practice.
• Take overall responsibility for procurement governance, contract management frameworks and procurement policies.

About you:
You will have the following experiences:

• Significant experience leading a procurement function, in a Local Authority context.
• Demonstrable record of delivering procurement transformation, commercial savings and service improvements.
• Strong experience managing budgets, teams and performance in a leadership capacity.
• Deep expertise in procurement, sourcing, contract management and commercial strategy.

• Salary: £700-£750+ per day, inside IR35
• Hybrid Working
• Contract type: Contract
• Hours: 09:00 -17:00 Monday to Friday
