HFG are working with an established international general insurance group as they look to appoint a Financial Controller to lead their UK financial accounting and reporting function.
The business has a long-standing presence in the UK insurance market and is part of a major international insurance group. The UK operation specialises across areas including commercial property, casualty, marine and credit insurance, with a growing presence in the London Market.
This is a senior finance role reporting directly to the CFO, with responsibility for delivering accurate and timely statutory, management and group reporting. The successful candidate will take ownership of the financial control and reporting agenda, while working closely with senior stakeholders across finance, actuarial and the wider business.

We are looking for a qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA or equivalent) with 10+ years' post-qualified experience and a strong technical financial reporting background.
Importantly, non-life/general insurance experience is essential. Candidates should have a strong understanding of insurance accounting and ideally experience within the London Market, together with exposure to IFRS 17 (desirable), FRS 102/103 and Solvency UK reporting.
You will also need strong financial control experience, excellent stakeholder management skills and a proven ability to lead and develop a finance team.
