Interim Accountant in London - KennedyPearce Consulting

We are working with a leading financial services business that is looking for an experienced Interim Accountant to join their Finance team on a short-term project.

The role will primarily support a VAT project, working closely with the Finance team to review transactions, reconcile VAT, identify discrepancies and ensure the accuracy of financial information.

The business uses Xero, so strong hands-on experience with Xero is essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Finance team with a VAT-focused project
• Review and analyse financial transactions and VAT treatment
• Work extensively within Xero to review financial information
• Assist with VAT reconciliations and supporting schedules
• Investigate discrepancies and resolve issues
• Review historic transactions and identify areas requiring further investigation
• Prepare financial analysis and supporting documentation
• Work with internal stakeholders to gather relevant information
• Assist with improving processes, controls and documentation
• Provide general accounting support throughout the project

About You

• Qualified, part-qualified or QBE Accountant
• Strong hands-on Xero experience is essential
• Previous VAT experience is essential
• Strong general accounting background
• Excellent Excel and financial analysis skills
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Comfortable working independently and managing a defined project
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment and hit the ground running
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Financial services experience would be advantageous
