This is an excellent opportunity to join a purpose-driven business where your work directly supports the delivery of essential services across the UK.

We're looking for a proactive and resilient credit professional who has experience managing complex debtor accounts, with particular exposure to Local Authority and NHS customers. You'll join a collaborative finance team focused on maximising cash collection, resolving queries efficiently and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders.

The Role

Reporting into the Credit Manager, you'll take ownership of a portfolio of accounts, ensuring outstanding debt is collected in a timely and professional manner while delivering an exceptional customer experience.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing the end-to-end credit control process across a high-volume ledger.
  • Chasing outstanding debt via phone, email and written correspondence.
  • Building strong working relationships with Local Authorities, NHS Trusts and internal stakeholders.
  • Investigating and resolving invoice and payment queries to minimise delays in collection.
  • Allocating cash and credit notes accurately.
  • Performing detailed account reconciliations.
  • Maintaining accurate records of collection activity and debt recovery actions.
  • Producing regular updates on aged debt and collection performance.
  • Supporting continuous improvement within the credit control function.
About You

You'll be an experienced Credit Controller with excellent communication skills and a methodical approach to problem solving.

You'll ideally have:

  • Proven end-to-end credit control experience.
  • Previous experience collecting debt from Local Authorities and/or NHS organisations (essential).
  • Strong reconciliation and cash allocation skills.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP and SUMIF.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • The ability to build relationships while confidently managing difficult conversations.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with the ability to prioritise a busy workload.
  • Experience working within a hybrid team environment.
What's on Offer
  • Up to £34,000 salary.
  • Hybrid working.
  • Excellent benefits package including life assurance and retail discounts.
  • Ongoing training and career development.
  • The opportunity to join a supportive, collaborative finance team within a growing organisation that genuinely makes a difference.

If you're an experienced Credit Controller with a background working with Local Authority and NHS accounts and are looking for your next challenge, we'd love to hear from you.
