Job Description

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Assistant Accountant to join a growing and supportive business. Working as part of an established finance team, you will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting day-to-day accounting operations, and contributing to the continued success of the organisation.

Responsibilities

  • Posting and allocating customer receipts, investigating and resolving discrepancies promptly
  • Performing regular bank reconciliations
  • Managing the sales ledger, including customer accounts with complex billing arrangements
  • Overseeing the purchase ledger and processing supplier payments accurately and on time
  • Maintaining and updating the general ledger to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Liaising with colleagues across the business to gather financial information and resolve queries
  • Supporting the Finance Manager with additional finance and administrative duties as required

About You

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience within an accounting or finance role
  • AAT Level 3 qualified or above
  • Strong working knowledge of accounting systems, with Sage 200 experience advantageous
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
  • Strong communication skills and ability to build effective working relationships
  • Professional, proactive and able to work independently or as part of a team
