Are you an experienced electronics engineer looking to apply your technical expertise to technology that genuinely changes lives?

We are recruiting for an industry-leading technology company that designs and manufactures innovative, life-changing hardware. In this hands-on role based in Bristol, you will lead the electronics design and system architecture for specialized, medical-grade computing devices.

You will have the opportunity to take full ownership of electronic subsystems, drive technical direction, and mentor a high-performing, collaborative hardware team.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Senior Electronics Engineer, you will provide technical leadership across the entire product lifecycle, from concept to delivery:

  • System Architecture: Lead the design, development, and delivery of complex electronic systems and define hardware/firmware strategies.

  • Hands-on Design: Design circuits, review PCB layouts, and build and test prototypes.

  • Firmware Integration: Contribute to embedded firmware development and champion engineering best practices.

  • Compliance & Quality: Drive verification, validation, and regulatory compliance (including medical and safety-critical standards).

  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams spanning hardware, production, quality, and external manufacturing partners.

  • Mentorship: Support and mentor junior engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.

What We Are Looking For

We are seeking a technical expert who balances deep engineering knowledge with a collaborative, purpose-driven mindset.

Essential Experience & Skills:

  • Electronics Expertise: Strong background in analogue, digital, and power electronics design.

  • PCB & Circuit Design: Proven hands-on experience owning complex hardware architectures and PCB development.

  • Embedded Systems: Firmware experience using C/C++, ideally with an RTOS.

  • Regulated Environments: Experience working within regulated industries (e.g., medical devices, safety-critical, or automotive).

  • Standards & Compliance: Strong knowledge of EMC, safety standards (IEC 60601 or equivalent), and engineering risk management.

  • Commercial Awareness: Proven ability to successfully balance technical quality, cost, and manufacturability.

  • Communication: Exceptional communication skills with a passion for teamwork and mentoring.

Why Join This Company?
  • Impactful Work: Your engineering decisions will directly improve the daily lives of people globally.

  • Culture: A supportive, inclusive, and collaborative working environment.

  • Flexibility: True hybrid working options to balance your professional and personal life.

  • Growth: Excellent opportunities to lead, shape future product platforms, and progress your career.
