Teaching Assistant - 1:1 SEND Support (Lower KS1) - Tameside

Tradewind Recruitment are currently seeking an experienced and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming Primary School in Tameside. This rewarding role involves providing 1:1 support for a pupil in Lower Key Stage 1 with additional SEND requirements.

The successful candidate will have previous experience working within a Primary School setting and be confident supporting children with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and non-verbal communication needs. This is a full-time position, offering the opportunity to make a real difference to a child's educational and personal development.

The Role:
  • Providing dedicated 1:1 support for a pupil in Lower KS1
  • Supporting a child with autism and non-verbal communication needs
  • Assisting with the pupil's learning, engagement and social development
  • Implementing strategies to support communication and emotional regulation
  • Working closely with the class teacher, SENDCo and wider school staff
  • Providing personal care when required
  • Creating a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment
The Ideal Candidate:
  • Has previous experience working within a Primary School setting
  • Has experience supporting children with SEND, particularly autism
  • Is confident working with non-verbal pupils and using communication strategies
  • Is patient, caring and resilient
  • Has excellent communication and behaviour management skills
  • Is comfortable providing personal care
  • Can build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents
