SEND Teaching Assistant - Tameside Primary School

Location: Tameside
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Full-time, Long-term

Tradewind Recruitment is currently recruiting for a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in the Tameside area from September.

This is a fantastic full-time, long-term opportunity for an experienced Teaching Assistant who is passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) to reach their full potential.

The successful candidate will work closely with class teachers and the school's SEND team, providing tailored support to pupils with a range of additional needs. This may include working on a one-to-one basis, supporting small groups, and implementing individual learning and behaviour strategies.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Previous experience supporting children with SEND within a primary school setting.
  • Experience working with pupils with a range of additional needs, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, speech and language needs, and social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs.
  • A patient, nurturing and adaptable approach to supporting learning and wellbeing.
  • Confidence delivering targeted interventions and supporting pupils both in and out of the classroom.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • A genuine passion for making a positive difference to children's educational journeys.

In return, you'll be joining a supportive school community with the backing of Tradewind Recruitment throughout your placement.
