Job Description

Newstaff Employment Services is seeking a highly organised and efficient Legal Secretary with experience in Residential Property, on behalf of our client.

The role involves assisting solicitors by managing and preparing legal documentation related to property transactions, ensuring all administrative processes are smooth and deadlines are met. Your role is essential in maintaining effective communication with clients, managing case files, and supporting the legal team to deliver exceptional service.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and type legal documents such as contracts, leases, transfer deeds, and other property-related processes.
  • Manage client correspondence and liaise with solicitors, clients, and other parties involved in property transactions.
  • Organise and maintain accurate filing and case management systems.
  • Schedule and coordinate appointments, meetings, and conveyancing deadlines.
  • Assist with the completion of property searches and other relevant administrative tasks.
  • Ensure compliance with legal protocols and confidentiality standards.
  • Provide administrative support as required to the residential property legal team.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Secretary within Residential Property law is ideal or similar experience is also considered
  • Familiarity with the conveyancing process and residential property documentation.
  • Excellent organisational and multitasking skills to handle a busy workload efficiently.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and relevant legal software.
  • Accurate typing and audio typing skills (to 60 wpm preferred)
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information discreetly.
  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.


Full time hours: Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5:00 pm with one hour lunch break.
