Job Description

Management Accountant

Bradford | Full Time | Study Support Available

Are you a part-qualified accountant looking to join a successful, growing manufacturing business where you can genuinely make an impact?

We're recruiting on behalf of a well-established and financially secure manufacturing and distribution business that is undergoing an exciting period of transformation. With ambitious growth plans, significant investment in systems, and a collaborative finance team, this is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their career within a commercially focused environment.

The Opportunity

Reporting into the Finance Director and working within a close-knit finance team, you'll play a key role in delivering accurate financial reporting, supporting business decisions, and helping drive improvements across finance processes.

This is an exciting time to join, with the business implementing a new ERP system, giving you the opportunity to be involved in systems development, reporting enhancements, and process improvement projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare accurate monthly management accounts with meaningful analysis and commentary.
  • Complete balance sheet reconciliations and maintain the integrity of financial records.
  • Support multiple group entities, ensuring consistent financial reporting and compliance.
  • Assist with year-end audit preparation and liaise with external auditors.
  • Support VAT returns, corporation tax processes and wider statutory compliance.
  • Produce product costing information and support costing activities.
  • Process staff expenses.
  • Contribute to finance improvement projects and provide ad hoc analysis when required.
  • Play an active role in the implementation of a new ERP system and the development of financial reporting and analytics.
About You

We're looking for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and wants to be part of a business that's investing in its future.

You'll ideally have:

  • Part-qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA (or equivalent).
  • Around two years' experience in a management accounting role.
  • Previous experience within manufacturing or FMCG.
  • Experience preparing management accounts and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Knowledge of audit support and tax compliance.
  • Strong Excel skills.
  • Experience with ERP systems or systems implementation would be advantageous.
  • Excellent analytical, organisational and communication skills.
  • A proactive approach with a continuous improvement mindset.
What's on Offer?
  • Genuine opportunity to influence finance processes during a major systems transformation.
  • Stable, profitable and growing business with excellent long-term career prospects.
  • Office-based role with occasional flexibility to work from home where required.
  • Monday-Friday, 9:00am-5:00pm (37.5 hours per week).
  • Free secure onsite parking.
  • Auto-enrolment pension.
  • 28 days' holiday including bank holidays.

If you're looking for a role where you'll gain broad exposure, work closely with senior leadership and help shape the future of a growing organisation, we'd love to hear from you.
