Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)


Role Summary

We are seeking a confident and skilled Higher Level Teaching Assistant to support teaching, deliver learning activities, and contribute to a positive, inclusive school environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lesson Delivery - Lead learning for individuals, groups, or whole classes.
  • IEP Support - Assist with IEPs and monitor pupil progress.
  • Classroom Environment - Maintain a calm, supportive, and structured learning space.
  • Staff Support - Share are of expertise and help train colleagues.
  • Supervision - Supervise pupils during trips and off-site activities.


About You

  • NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent experience).
  • Strong communication and clarity when giving instructions.
  • Experience supporting pupils with SEND.
  • Able to work independently and lead whole-class learning when needed.
  • Patient, empathetic, and committed to individual pupil needs.
  • A collaborative team player with a professional, confidential approach.


Contract Details

  • Location: Waterlooville
  • Hours: Mon, Tue, Wed & Fri 08:30-15:30
  • Thu 08:30-16:00
  • Salary (Pro Rata): £20,574.24-£22,636.10
  • Start: ASAP/ September 2026
