Join a growing team making a real impact

At Impact HR, we help SME businesses protect, empower, grow and thrive through practical HR, Health & Safety, Payroll, Recruitment and HR Technology solutions.

As our business continues to grow across the UK, we are looking for a commercially driven Business Development Executive to help drive new client growth, strengthen relationships and expand our presence within the SME market.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing, ambitious and entrepreneurial business where your contribution will directly support the future growth of the organisation.

We are looking for someone who is hungry, proactive and motivated by building relationships, creating opportunities and making things happen.

This is a role for someone who enjoys being out in the market, speaking with people, building networks and becoming a trusted representative of a growing brand.

Why this role matters

Growth is central to our vision.

As Impact HR continues to expand nationally, we are focused on building strong relationships with SME businesses, referral partners and professional networks across the UK.

You will be one of the key ambassadors for the Impact HR brand.

What you will be doing

You will be responsible for identifying, generating and developing new business opportunities across the SME market.

You will work closely with operational and leadership teams to support sustainable growth across the business.

Business development

  • Generate new sales opportunities through networking, referrals, partnerships and outbound activity
  • Build relationships with business owners, Managing Directors, HR leaders and senior decision makers
  • Attend face-to-face client meetings and introductory discussions across the region
  • Promote the full range of Impact HR services across HR, Health & Safety, Payroll, Recruitment and HR Technology
  • Identify opportunities for both immediate and future business
  • Develop and maintain a healthy sales pipeline
  • Achieve agreed activity and revenue targets
  • Support wider group growth initiatives and campaigns

Your day to day will include:

Lead generation and prospecting

  • Research and identify target organisations aligned to our Ideal Client Profile
  • Conduct outbound prospecting activity through telephone, email, LinkedIn and networking
  • Follow up inbound and marketing-generated enquiries
  • Qualify opportunities and understand client challenges and objectives
  • Arrange meetings and introductions with senior consultants where appropriate
  • Maintain accurate CRM records, pipeline activity and reporting

Networking, events and brand representation

  • Represent Impact HR at networking events, seminars, exhibitions, expos and business events
  • Build strong relationships within local and regional business communities
  • Act as a visible ambassador for the Impact HR brand
  • Support webinars, roundtables and thought leadership activity
  • Develop relationships with prospective clients, introducers and strategic partners
  • Maintain a professional and credible personal presence both online and in person

Consultative relationship building

  • Understand client challenges, risks and commercial objectives
  • Identify opportunities where Impact HR can support business growth and operational improvement
  • Build trusted long-term relationships with clients and stakeholders
  • Work collaboratively with operational teams to ensure smooth onboarding and client handover
  • Support account growth opportunities across existing client relationships
  • Help deliver an outstanding client experience throughout the sales journey

Reporting and pipeline management

  • Maintain accurate CRM records and sales activity tracking
  • Produce regular pipeline, activity and opportunity reports
  • Track lead conversion and sales performance
  • Monitor pipeline progression and forecasting
  • Take ownership of your pipeline and proactively manage opportunities through the sales process
  • Share market insight and feedback with leadership teams

What Success Looks Like (First 12 Months)

  • Consistent generation of qualified SME opportunities and commercial conversations
  • Consistent networking and market visibility
  • New recurring revenue generated across multiple services
  • Trusted relationships established with referral partners
  • Accurate CRM reporting and pipeline management
  • Positive feedback from clients and colleagues
  • Active contribution to group growth objectives
  • Strong personal reputation within the regional business community

About You

You are motivated by building relationships, creating opportunities and making things happen.

You are personable, commercially aware and energised by meeting new people. You enjoy being out in the market, attending events, building networks and opening conversations.

You are proactive rather than reactive and comfortable taking ownership of your own activity, pipeline and success.

You understand that successful business development is built on trust, consistency and follow-through, not hard selling.

You will likely bring:

  • Experience in business development, sales, account management or client relationship roles
  • Experience within professional services or SME-focused environments would be advantageous
  • Experience using CRM systems and managing sales pipelines
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Commercial awareness and a solutions-focused mindset
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • A professional, credible and trustworthy approach
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and CRM systems

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary and uncapped commission structure
  • Flexible working
  • Supportive, values-led team culture
  • A genuinely supportive, collaborative and ambitious team environment
  • Progression opportunities as the business continues to grow
  • Ongoing professional development
  • Opportunity to work across a growing and ambitious group of businesses
