HGV CLASS 1 DRIVER

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are currently recruiting on behalf of a major logistics company for experienced HGV Class 1 Drivers. You will play a crucial role in our client’s nationwide network, responsible for the safe, timely, and efficient transportation of goods between depots and customer sites. You will represent our client professionally at all times and help maintain their reputation for excellence.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Safely operate articulated vehicles for long and short-haul journeys across the UK
• Execute bulk collections and deliveries in line with strict schedules and time-critical deadlines
• Conduct thorough pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness and safety compliance
• Perform trailer swaps, oversee loading/unloading, and ensure cargo is secured correctly
• Maintain accurate records of journeys, driving hours, rest periods, and delivery documentation
• Adhere strictly to all road traffic laws, DVSA regulations, and company policies
• Communicate effectively with dispatch teams and customers to ensure smooth operations
• Report any vehicle faults, accidents, or issues promptly to the relevant department
• Keep vehicles clean and well-maintained at all times

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

• Valid UK Driving Licence with Category C+E (Class 1) entitlement
• Current and valid Driver CPC Card
• Valid Digital Tachograph Card
• Minimum 12 months’ experience driving Class 1 vehicles
• Clean driving record (maximum 6 penalty points accepted; no DD/DR/IN offences)
• Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and compliance requirements
• Excellent time management, communication, and customer service skills
• Ability to work flexible shifts, including afternoons, nights, and weekends
