Accountant in Leeds - Marks Sattin

A growing and diverse group of businesses is looking to appoint a Group Accountant to join its finance team based in East Leeds. This is an excellent opportunity for someone making their first move from practice into industry, or someone with relevant experience looking to step into a broader, more commercially focused role.

Working closely with senior finance leadership, you'll play a key part in delivering accurate financial reporting, supporting strategic decision-making, and driving continuous improvements across the finance function.

• Preparation of monthly management accounts and consolidated reporting packs
• Managing accruals and prepayments, alongside detailed variance analysis
• Supporting the budgeting and forecasting process across multiple business units
• Partnering with operational teams to provide financial insight and cost control support
• Developing KPI reporting and enhancing cost centre analysis
• Contributing to process improvements and strengthening financial controls

• Currently working in an accountancy practice and looking to move into industry, or already in a similar finance role
• Strong understanding of core accounting principles and month-end processes
• Experience working with accounting software (e.g. Sage or similar)
• Studying towards ACCA or ACA (or recently qualified)
• Analytical, organised, and detail-oriented with a proactive mindset
• Confident communicator, able to collaborate across different areas of the business
