Assistant Accountant in Stafford - Broster Buchanan

• CIMA Part Qualified/AAT (Study Support Provided)

This role offers hands-on exposure to month end, reporting and analysis, working closely with an experienced Financial Controller — ideal for someone AAT qualified or part-qualified ACCA / CIMA who wants a clear route toward full qualification.

The role you'll support the wider finance function with:

• Preparation of monthly management accounts
• Posting month end journals (accruals, prepayments, depreciation)
• Balance sheet reconciliations and P&L variance analysis
• Fixed asset register maintenance
• Supporting budgets, forecasts and cash flow
• Assisting with AP/AR, bank reconciliations and VAT returns
• Involvement in audit prep, systems and process improvements

This is a broad role that goes beyond transaction processing and gives exposure to the full accounting cycle.

What we're looking for

• Studying or willing to study AAT / ACCA / CIMA
• 1-3 years' experience in a finance or accounting role
• Confident with double-entry and month end
• Strong Excel skills (PivotTables / XLOOKUP beneficial)
• Proactive, organised and keen to develop
