Job Description

We are currently recruiting on behalf of our client for a highly organised and proactive Operations Scheduler to join their team on a 3-month contract with a view to a permanent role. This role supports day-to-day operational service delivery through effective scheduling, coordination and administration. It requires a high level of accuracy, strong organisational skills and the ability to work calmly and professionally in a fast-paced, time-critical environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and maintain operational work schedules
  • Monitor workforce availability and support proactive resource planning
  • Ensure accurate recording of staff rotas, absences, training and contractual hours
  • Apply Trust policies and legislation consistently and fairly
  • Support absence coordination and annual leave management with sensitivity and confidentiality
  • Communicate scheduling decisions clearly and professionally to staff and managers
  • Identify potential resourcing pressures and escalate concerns appropriately
  • Maintain high levels of data accuracy across workforce records and reports
  • Support and guide colleagues, including new starters, as required
  • Manage high-volume emails and telephone queries efficiently
  • Contribute to team targets, KPIs and service improvements

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Strong organisational and time-management skills
  • High level of attention to detail and data accuracy
  • Confident IT skills with the ability to learn new systems quickly
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to explain processes clearly and handle sensitive conversations with professionalism
  • Calm, resilient approach when working under pressure or managing competing priorities
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive mindset
  • Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team
  • Willingness to undertake training and ongoing development
