Our client, a well-established and growing business based in Sevenoaks, is seeking an Accounts Assistant to join their finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual looking to develop their career within a professional and supportive environment.

The Role

Reporting into the finance team, you will support the day-to-day accounting operations and contribute to the accurate and timely delivery of financial information.

Key Responsibilities

  • Processing invoices, receipts, and payments
  • Assisting with monthly management accounts, including journal postings
  • Performing bank and general ledger reconciliations
  • Maintaining accurate financial records and documentation
  • Supporting budgeting and forecasting processes
  • Assisting with payroll administration and expense claims
  • Managing purchase and sales ledger activities
  • Handling supplier queries and liaising with internal stakeholders

About you

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in an accounts or bookkeeping role
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles and processes
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems (Sage 50 preferred)
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • AAT or equivalent qualification (or working towards) desirable

Desirable Experience

  • Knowledge of VAT, tax processes, and CIS compliance
  • Experience with financial reporting and reconciliations
