Mortgage Adviser

Location: Harrow, NW London

Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 Basic Salary + commission / OTE

Job Type: Full-time


Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and customer-focused Mortgage Adviser to join our growing team. The successful candidate will provide whole-of-market (or panel-based) mortgage advice, guiding clients through the home-buying and remortgaging process while delivering outstanding service and compliant, tailored recommendations.

You will assess clients’ financial circumstances, recommend suitable mortgage and protection solutions, and manage applications through to completion, building long-term relationships and contributing to business growth.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide regulated mortgage advice in line with FCA requirements and company policies
  • Conduct detailed fact-finds to understand clients’ financial needs and objectives
  • Research and recommend suitable mortgage products from lenders
  • Advise on associated protection products (life cover, critical illness, income protection, etc.)
  • Manage mortgage applications from initial enquiry through to completion
  • Liaise with lenders, solicitors, estate agents, and other third parties to progress cases
  • Maintain accurate client records and documentation in line with compliance standards
  • Deliver excellent customer service and build lasting client relationships
  • Meet individual and team performance targets
  • Keep up to date with lender criteria, market changes, and regulatory developments


Skills & Experience

Essential:

  • CeMAP (or equivalent Level 3 Mortgage Advice qualification)
  • Proven experience as a Mortgage Adviser
  • Strong knowledge of the UK mortgage market and lending criteria
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage a pipeline and work to deadlines
  • High level of professionalism and attention to detail

Desirable:

  • Competent Adviser Status (CAS)
  • Experience advising on protection products
  • Whole-of-market experience
  • Strong business development or lead generation capability
