Are you passionate about supporting children in their early years?

We are seeking a caring and enthusiastic Nursery Assistant to join a friendly team based in Cardiff. This is an exciting opportunity for motivated individuals who enjoy working with young children and are keen to start or develop a career in early years education. The successful candidate will be committed to providing high-quality childcare and helping to create an inclusive and nurturing learning environment.

The nursery is a high-quality, bilingual (Welsh and English), fully organic, Montessori-style day nursery located in The Vale of Glamorgan.

The nursery aims to create a calm, welcoming, and friendly environment where children feel safe and secure to explore, learn, and develop independently. As such, we are looking for someone who is highly motivated and passionate about delivering exceptional childcare and meaningful learning experiences.

The nursery invests wholeheartedly in its staff, offering ongoing support, up-to-date training, and professional advice.

The Role

You will support children from 6 weeks to 5 years old, helping to create a calm, welcoming, and safe environment where children feel confident to explore, learn, and develop independently.

Key Skills

We are looking for nursery professionals who demonstrate:

  • Supporting children’s learning through play and planned activities
  • Assisting with daily routines such as meals, naps, and outdoor play
  • Ensuring a safe, clean, and nurturing environment
  • Building positive relationships with children, staff, and parents
  • Following safeguarding and health & safety procedures

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must meet the following criteria:

  • A genuine interest in working with children
  • A warm, patient, and reliable personality
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Willingness to learn and complete required training
  • No previous childcare experience needed
