Job Title: Management Accountant / Finance Manager

Location: Dukinfield

Reporting to: Finance Director

Overview

We are recruiting an experienced Management Accountant / Finance Manager to join a well-established business operating within the manufacturing / engineering / chemical sector. This is a key role within the finance team, providing high-quality financial reporting, analysis, and decision-making support to senior leadership.

This opportunity would suit a CIMA-qualified Management Accountant or Finance Manager who enjoys working in a commercially focused, operational environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparation of monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet, and variance analysis
  • Budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities
  • Providing insightful financial analysis to support business decisions
  • Cost control and margin analysis within a manufacturing or engineering setting
  • Supporting operational teams with financial information and performance reviews
  • Assisting with year-end accounts and liaising with external auditors
  • Improving financial processes, controls, and reporting efficiency
  • Ad-hoc financial projects as required by the Finance Director

Skills & Experience Required

  • CIMA Qualified (or equivalent)
  • Proven experience as a Management Accountant or Finance Manager
  • Background in manufacturing, engineering, or chemicals (essential)
  • Strong commercial awareness and analytical mindset
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, complex formulas, data analysis)
  • Confident communicator, able to work closely with non-finance stakeholders
  • Experience with ERP systems advantageous (experience with SAP is not required)
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative finance team
